Making 240 Weatherby Brass from 3006

I have a Vangaurd S2 in 240 coming soon and saw this article to form brass from 3006 brass. What do you think...I'm gonna try it Anyone ever try?
Looking in my reloading books the 280 Rem brass would be better than 3006, the shoulder is right about where its supposed to be .

Apparently it helps if you get a case forming die from these guys
Can you order this from the States or are dies on the NO list for import?

I can't see how this could work at all. Even if you could swage down the base ahead of the belt, it will never give you a sharp front ring to the belt, and that's what's needed for head spacing. I think they are doing this and then head spacing off the shoulder. Just order the proper brass. BTW, dies are no problem, I order from CH4D all the time.

I hate it when you guys make me do research...

I remembered reading this long ago, just lucky enough to remember where I read it:

" The .240 Weatherby case can almost be called a 6mm/06; the case is virtually the same length as .30-06 brass and the rim diameter is the same. Like all Weatherby cartridges the .240 case is belted, but if you are of a mind to do so you can make .240 cases, belt and all, by running .30-06 ( or .270 ) cases into a .240 sizing die.

... I tested one of the first Weatherby rifles in this calibre and was not impressed by the accuracy I got with factory loads. Likewise, various handloads I used weren't so hot either. I'd about decided the problem was the rifle when, on a whim, I tried swaging a belt on some .30-06 cases and sizing them to .240. Groups fired with these cases were much smaller than those fired with factory cases, but I don't know the reason. "

I don't own a .240 myself, and have never tried this, just quoting what I've read, for whatever it's worth.
