Making a gun stainless??

Your equation contained an error, I took the liberty of fixing it for you. :) Assuming an equivalent rifle, not trading a blued sako 85 for a stainless savage axis, since SS models run a good bit more than their blued counterparts. And yes, I agree, this is probably the best way.

Actually, your equation was incorrect also, it should read;

"CM+EE+WTS/WTT = SS+$$$"
 
Hard chrome is more durable than stainless. Lots of people choose to hard chrome their stainless. I am just biased because I have a gunsmith who is renowned for his hard chromed firearms an hour from me. I am getting a 1911 done soon. Regular colored hard chrome slide and accessories, and black chrome frame.

Stainless is not the most durable gun finish, and you would be hard pressed to get stainless this polished. This is a hard chromed gun.
