I have a S&W 63 stainless .22 revolver with a 4 inch barrel therefore a prohib . Is there any gunsmith or manufacturer in Canada that can make me a 4.500" inch barrel for it so i can re-register it as restricted ? Basically do the whole job , take the 4 inch barrel off , make a new barrel , install it and use the sights from the 4 inch barrel .

Is this your only -12-6?
if it is and you make it restricted after spending a bunch of money, you will lose your 12-6 endorsement.
Just a heads up.

Making up a barrel out of a blank isn't difficult, if the smith is competent with threading. Profiling is a whole different matter.

The biggest issue is profiling the barrel and installing sights.

Your 63 barrel has an integral rib and ejector cover. Difficult and time consuming to reproduce.

IMHO, you would be much further ahead, money wise, to import a bbl from the US or go through the Canadian S&W distributor for a new barrel. They will sell you a 22 bore bbl but they will only sell you a larger bore diameter barrel if they install it.

There's a guy on the EE selling 22 cal Colt barrels. I know some smiths used to rebarrel S&W's with Python barrels back in the day. It'd be worth looking into.
