Making a restricted length smith 5906

Hello guys, I am looking to buy a 5906 and have it re-registered as restricted. Is it better to get a new barrel or can a proper smith add on the .2 inches to make it legal? Please let me know out there who to call. Thank you all for your help.

I picked up a barrel from bitsofpieces.ca in Delta for mine. Not cheap but great work at 107mm. If you send them your pistol they will fit it for the price of the barrel. Good guys. Barry is a busy man so don't expect it back in a week.
 
Bit of pieces is the only place I've found. But apparently they need to modify the slide for the new barrel because the bushing is built in on the 5906. After the conversion, the original barrel will no longer fit.
