Made me think of a missed opportunity. Last year my local gunsmith in south Africa showed me one of his remaining rifles from an illustrious career in hunting and fine rifles.
The man hunted elephant and buffalo amongst others in the good old days of African safaris and owned 2 Holland and Holland rifles in his years. Anyway, he showed me drilling which he had owned for many years, the name of the maker escapes me, but it was German, as one would typically expect of a drilling. It had double 12ga barrels above and a single rifled 303 British barrel below. Claw type detachable scope mounts and a fine older Leopold scope.
The rifle handled and pointed like magic, an extension of your fingertips. We discussed a price around $2k, which I ended up talking myself out of advice was already in the process of selling up everything I own to immigrate to Canada. Man, I feel stupid now just thinking about about it.
