I have a old enfield no.3 with a cut down stock, I got it that way. Anyway I was thinking about building more of a sporting stock for it. I really don't know how accurate the rifle is, as it does not have a front sight anymore. The best I can do with it is point it and shoot from not that far away and hope I hit the target. As it is presently modified, I don't think it is worth much, so I was thinking about making a new stock for it and putting on a scope. It might be more trouble that its worth, but I like working with wood and have the tools. The scope might be different, but I have a buddy with a machine shop and together we might be able to build a set if rings for it.
Has anyone tried this sort of thing with this rifle before? If so I would like to get a feeling for the pitfalls I might encounter.
Thanks.
