Yeah baby
Anybody ever consider trying to make a T3 lighter? Maybe flute the barrel and bolt. Don`t know what else could be done, is there a lighter stock available? Just trying to see if anyone else has gone down this road. I have heard of a T3 super light but have not seen any information on one. Apparently 5.8 lbs. What do you guys think?

I remember hearing about those "super-lites" over on the 'fire awhile back.
IIRC they were were a limited production special run for some retail chain in the U.S.
Only difference from the regular T-3 lite was a fluted barrel maybe from a finnlite?
What stands out in my mind though is that the the .300winmag chambering only had a 22" barrel. Regular production T-3 mags have a 24" barrel...so it would seem they neutered the standard to achieve the "super" :p
I can't guarantee the above info is correct, memory doesn't always serve this fella.

Call Corlanes and ask to talk to Travis about one of their lightweight recoil pads. It's more of a foam than rubber, and you just may lose an O or two.

What are you running for optics? If you're using something like a Zeiss Conquest you could switch to a similar power Leupold to lighten up...but you probably already knew that.
Manners also makes a lighter stock I believe.

T3 Superlite uses a finnlight fluted barrel. I have a spare .308 one if you need it.:D Also I think the superlite only comes in 1 or 2 cals.

Fluting the bolt won't reduce the weight by more than .5oz, only for asthetics. Other than cutting the barrel, there's not much you can do. A few places are making T3 stocks now, but even a McMillan EDGE would not be much lighter than the factory synthetic, only a much better stock.

If the 300 mag barrel was cut to 22 inches to lose weight that`s too bad. Not how I`d want to go about it but I didn`t think that you could lose much weight off of one of these. Anybody happen to know the weight of a t3 stock? Too bad they only make one action length otherwise the t3 could prabably be a real lightweight. One other thing I`d like to know is if the clip`s are interchangable - ie could a magnum action clip replace a short mag one to provide more room for seating depth?
I don`t have a scope for this as I`m really just trying to dig for info here but I usually run leupolds and the new vx3 is even lighter than the old ones.
Thanks

Not sure if I would even want my .300 wm lighter. I actually put on a big bulky 50mm Nikon to weigh it down a bit, along with a 9 round shell holder on the stock.

One of those newfangled carbon fiber barrels should knock a couple ounces off of it, I think desert eagle makes them for rem 700's
