Making a walnut Baikal buttstock

Tonight I was able to sand the contour, mark a couple of lines, and tomorrow I'll start doing the exterior shape.

Darn. That's looking great already. I'm miserable at inletting.... a butt plate is pushing my boundaries so I have lots of respect for anyone that can make a stock from scratch
 
Almost there. Tonight I took out the mighty grinder to shape the stock. Beware, it is a dusty process and you have to be gentle with it, pay attention otherwise you can go through very quick.

Next I take the orbital sander with 80, 120 and 220 grit paper
