Hi all,

Are there any retailers in Canada that stock Malkoff Device Surefire upgrade lights?

Have a couple older Remington 870 Laser Products/Surefire forends I want to upgrade but Malkoff charges $50 USD for shipping…

Thanks in advance!

I have one that I purchased for an older Surefire forend. Difference is literally night and day. I’d bite the bullet and order two, paying the one shipping fee. Never know when they may no longer ship to Canada.

Mine replaced the tube as well. It's only 400 lumens but better than the 60 lumen head it replaced.

Lumens for lighting is like the Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) of an antenna…

A great shorthand for total radiated power, but it doesn't indicate how much useful energy actually arrives at a specific surface.

It’s like comparing a standard lightbulb to the directional cast of a searchlight.

The intensity of the bright radiated center beam (center fresnel) is better represented by Lux. The total light on target—the center beam plus the spill—is represented by Candela.

Lumens are just the raw power. Malkoff separates itself by pairing an excellent reflector with a great lens to turn that raw power into superior beam shaping.

Understood but the 60 lumen Surefire incandesent bulb output was pitiful.

With the Malkoff upgrade.

Totally get that

Had a Laser Products Corp (pre surefire) light with incandescent bulb.
Wasnt just the poor light in comparison to modern lighting systems. But relatively flimsy nature of the incandesent bulb in comparison with the LED.

My main point:
Malkoff's 400 lumen solution is a well executed option.
