A new record 32 ducks on the ground in under 20 minutes. A tremendous number of ducks visited this field south and east of Edmonton, the proverbial , you could have shot 500. Sat back for 1/2 an hour and watched flock after flock come to the decoys. FS

Steel nope not this time
Fasteel early in the season, this time of year I like to pull out the Tungsten matrix ammo. I have some number 6 shot in a 1 1/8th oz load and shoot it out of any Mod choked shotgun and it is lethal to 50 yards or so. When the birds are coming in like they were today I usually try and limit myself to 1 good shot at a greenhead.
There was also some new ammo from Hevi shot being field tested today, it is a hybrid shell 3 inch with a combo of Hevi shot #6 and Hevi Steel number 4. Worked quite well, but what I still like about the Matrix is it doesn't cause excessive bleeding that other ammo types, including the Hevi loads and fasteel cause. And the number 6 size pellet cause far less meat damage.
Used the Beretta Extema II with Kick off today, as fine an auto loader as there is for hunting in my opinion. FS
