Manchettes From Central America

I have one of these. My brother brought it for me from Guatemala. They are excellent quality and will stand up to a ton of use .

“We don’t say Manchette, we say, Peoplechette”. And Trudeau went on to say, “ Under Bill C-21, weapons of mysoginy such as the, Manchette, a Peoplechette “style” weapon of war, would be banned. Yes, we stand up for Canadians safety and no Canadian needs a Manchette to prune his roses or begonias”. When asked about the implications ,a ban of this nature, may have upon Indigenous, Mr Trudeau replied “ The Tomahawk, is no Manchette. The Tomahawk was designed as a hunting implement for sustenance by our First Nations. Therefore, of course, in the name of Reconcilliation, the Tomahawk will receive special exemption status on First Nations Sovereign Lands.” CBC Staff Reporter.

I brought back 2 Bellotta Machette from Cuba, they use them for cutting brush and cane. they look exactly like these except mine have red handles. the Bellotta are made at the same factory where they make circular saw blades and the metal is the same, is excellent and holds a great edge. if these are the same then its a good deal!

We did a medical aid trip to Nicaragua a few years ago, and a local we got to know gave me a cool little tool he made, as did a lot of local farmers. It's like a shorter version of a Parang, shape wise. About 14inches long, with a bit more belly on the blade. I found a couple more in a market in El Progresso, Honduras That were the equivalent of $6/ea.

I gave my son-in-law one, and he's used it for butchering chickens (they live n a small farm) ever since. They're tough, handy little blades for a lot of things. In rural Central America, every second guy is carrying one around all the time
