This past weekend I shot my recently acquired Manhattan revolver in competition and was surprised by how accurate it was. I’ve always been under the impression closed frame cap n ball revolvers, such as the Remington or Rogers & Spencer, were “more” accurate. And while they may be, this light small calibre revolver was a pleasure to shoot and accurate enough for me.

Load:
375 Ball
Durham wheat as filler
13 grains of Swiss 3f
CCI percussion caps

Target at 25m, one handed (13 shots, score highest 10 as per MLAIC rules).

I’m hopeful I can produce a respectable target in a few weeks at the BP Nationals in Barrie, Ontario. The revolver can shoot, I’m the one who can’t always do his part.

It’s a 6.5” barrel and I agree the Manhattans are good value.

If anyone is interested in coming out to shoot or meet like minded shooters, come out to the Barrie Gun Club this Friday and Saturday.

I’ll admit, there are some impressive rifle shooters as well.
