Manitoba 2010 and Bus Idea

I have briefly looked into the bus idea 47-56 seat capacity cost seem to run $800-1300 a day so approx $1000 a day (does not say if this includes driver assuming it does and the need of driver rest requirements) I used 7 days as a min for service and looked at pick up locations. First for me was Toronto but our eastern friends would have to drive 4-5 hours extra to get here 2nd idea was to have the first pick up location in Ottawa actually Connaught, lots of parking and if the event is sanctioned by the DCRA we could coordinate with them to allow cars to be parked at Connaught for a week (speculation on my part). And the 2nd pick up point could be Bass Pro Vaughn Mills Mall (NO PARKING)

To keep cost relatively affordable we would need 30-33 shooters or half the field coming from Ontario and points east, not sure what the general shooter ratio is. If 40 or more are coming from the west cost could be out of reach for some people

The Ottawa pick up point would be contingent on the number of people coming out of Ottawa if we have 30 guys and only 3-5 are out of Ottawa it would be cost effective to have the initial pick up point in Toronto.

Things we would need to determine before hand

Firm commitment of participants
How many of those are from Ontario and points east
How many people would be picked up in Ottawa
Access to Connaught

Thanks for the offer I am a DCRA member as well but do not have any contacts within the DCRA to speak with military officials. We could possibly have 3-15 cars parked for a week at Connaught assuming something like this is even possible. As this is a military base they might simple tells us to blow it our or A$$ there is no way but we don't know for sure until we ask.

I am not even sure the Manitoba organizers have even engaged the DCRA for support at this point.

Let’s have an informal show of hands on who will be coming from Ontario and points east?

Right now it will be the Manitoba F class match that is discussed a couple of threads down tentatively scheduled for this summer.

A couple of folks have suggest that it might be financially challenging renting a highway bus have suggested a couple of 15 person passenger vans (rentals) loaded could hold 5-6 guys and all their gear as an alternative.
 
Another option might be a bus hauling a trailer. The 2 van idea would give a bit more mobility once we arrive, but means we need extra drivers...just thinking out loud.
