I would like to get involved in action shooting such as 3-gun, IPSC, etc. I would like to know how to get started in action shooting, and for events such as 3-gun would require a handgun, are there any ranges near Winnipeg that do these types of events, and who should I contact?

Hey black_bear! IPSC is my first love, but there are other options. We are working on developing CDP/IDPA shooting in the Winnipeg area. There's also the Ft LaBosse range in Virden - They do several action matches each year and always worth the trip.

Who was at the Selkirk MB Game and Fish handgun club yesterday?

I was the kid with the Marpat pants and black T-shirt and the 9mm STAR Model B. It was my first time really shooting handgun, but I beat everyone I went up against. (Except 1 tie) Including my dad :D

Great fun!
 
I thought George Crampton was president of the handgun club. He's an old friend of my dad's. Sorry, I thought you were him.

BTW, thanks to the organizers of that event. I was surprised at how many people were there. I'm now getting very interested in shooting handgun competetively.
