Well,

Spotted this guy wondering along the tree line at 200 yards. Put the scope on him and let loose 180g Supreme Ballistic Silvertip (Rem 7600 30-06). He jumped straight up and started running flat out. He came to a skidding halt 80 yards from me.(lung shot)

Luv it :dancingbanana:

hehe..yep it was strange. He didn't go into the bush but ran straight out into the open...but when you are in shock you do stupid things i guess..hehe.

As for the damage...No passthough at that range. Pin hole going in..and on the inside of the animal a good toonie size hole. The left lung was basically liquid when I dressed him out.

Noel,
Thats the strange part. He was right beside some pretty nasty willows that would of been hell to track through...but he bolted out in the open. I think it was the shock of being shot that made him do it. I didn't mind one bit as he was easy to throw onto the truck :) No dragging out of the bush.

Oh..side note:
I live in Calgary and hunt back in my native Manitoba on my parents land. While we driving home on Saturday we got pulled over by a big Check-Stop at the Glechien (sp?) intersection. It was a wildlife checkstop and not a drinking/driving checkstop. I've never seen that before, but it was nice to see them trying to nab the poachers out there.

So make sure you guys always have your tags with ya :)

Kenco, sounds like he was coming gunnin' for ya, wanted revenge. Gleichen, I'll give you one more guess as to what they were after :D

Good going.
I had a buck do the exact same thing about 10yrs back.Shot him about 125-150yrs broad side rib shot.It ran straight towards me within 30yrd before falling. My only thought is it didnt even know I was there or where the shot came from to run my way.
