I was looking to join IDPA or IPSC in the next week. IDPA does not list a club in Manitoba but i came across the MDPL. It appears that they use the same rulebook as IDPA.

Does anyone know if it is affilated with IDPA? If i join MDPL can i enter IDPA matches.

Any members of MDPL here?

Thanks.

MDPL is not affiliated with IDPA.

That being said, you are welome to shoot IDPA matches, if the matches are sanctioned events, you must be a member of IDPA and have shot the IDPA classifier match.

Yes, i had a look at the website which is what caused the confusion.

Steve, correct me if I misunderstood your point above. There is no IDPA in manitoba. I can be a member of MDPL (get experience etc), become a member of IDPA and travel for actual IDPA sanctioned events including the classifier. Use MDPL as my homebase but it won't count towards IDPA at all.

Steve is correct. MDPL is not an affiliated club. To shoot at an official IDPA match you will have to join IDPA.

Our next MDPL match is July 4th. PM me if you have questions or register on the site.

That sounds correct to me.

There is no IDPA in Manitoba but MDPL members are welcome to shoot at local IDPA club matches at the discretion of the local Match Director &/or IDPA club.

To shoot an IDPA Sanctioned match you must:

a. Be an IDPA member
b. Have shot the "Classifier in the last 12 months and meet the minimum qualification set for the Sanctioned Match.

*Only IDPA accredited Safety Officers are qualified to supervise an official IDPA Classifier and the results submitted via an affiliated IDPA Club.
