Anyone out there from Southern Manitoba that hunts Moose or Elk in the province that could provide some advice on how to get started, where to go, etc? I'm an experienced Whitetail hunter, but would like to go for moose or elk. Anyone looking for a partner on a hunt?

I use to put my name in for elk in area 23 south of Riding Mountain.I started in 1997 and am 1 elk in 4 draws and one year we ended up with a moose.We seen game 3 of the 4 times up there,last time up there was 2004 didn't see a thing.I heard that they were culling out the herd because of TB.I was hunting the late season in Jan. each time.I put my name in for the area around my property but didn't get drawn.Which is area 25 in the interlake.There is like 10 square miles of crown land scattered around the area most of it accessible by sled or quad.The season runs late Sept. early Oct. There was also an late season that starts in Dec. which is landowner but I opted for the early season.
Moose I have never gone for other than the elk/moose combo hunt that they had in GHA 23.Where you were allowed either animal one elk or moose.
My dad use to moose hunt in GHA 26 just past Bird Lake along the logging trails.Season takes place in Dec.
My brother use to go up to GHA 21 by Lake St. George and hunt the logging trails up there.Season takes place in Sept./Oct.
