I looked in the Sask hunting and trapping guide and it looks like only provincial residents can hunt coyotes? Hopefully someone can inform me otherwise.

If your a resident of Canada, we should be allowed to hunt in any province without a guide. Don't need a guide to go fishing next door.

Coyote hunting isn't regulated here. Trapping is. Only Sask residents can trap in Sask. with a valid trappers licence. The exception is that if an R.M. has declared them a pest, (Like beaver) then it is open season. I would call the Ministry of Environment Inquiry Line 1-800-567-4224 to be sure.

There's tons of guys out this way who would love to have you thin out a few.

It is open season on coyotes for Sask.residents. no license required.Im not sure why they changed coyotes to residents only, my guess is probably something to do with the trappers association. The assoc. was behind needing a fur licence to shoot fox.

I understood the restriction was related to a poaching problem. Non-resident hunters had been coming in to hunt coyotes but were actually shooting deer, etc.
