Mannlichers....

I really like some mannlichers if they have a few features:
-nice lines,(tough to explain this one but some have them others don’t.)
-steel schnabel / nose cap that encapsulates the barrel or at least over center so it actually holds.
-no spliced on forend.

Anyways just my $0.02, I do enjoy seeing the pictures in this thread. Lots of versions I haven’t seen before.

I like the Ruger RSIs but wish they had a 20" bbl forend.

Always thought I wanted a fullstock on original M98 (not drilled for mounts) with a nice Redfield or Lyman receiver sight. 20" bbl in 6.5x57.

I have a bit of a soft spot for the full stock models myself. My basic 'guideline' for any full stock model is that they be in what I'd classify as a classic European calibre. One of my most recent acquisitions in that group is a Lipsey Ruger RSI in 7x57 primarily for use here in the 'Wet Coast' conditions of Vancouver Island, and on Blacktail Deer. I mounted a Bushnell Elite 3x9 I had laying on the shelf on it as the colour matches that of the barrel and action. I'll see if I can put it to good use this fall.

Especially when you remember that HVA fullstocks are made with two pieces of wood (just like fullstock Tikkas and Sakos.) This relieves the stress in the wood and counters any warping due to weather changes, humidity, etc., thus increasing accuracy. ....great job on matching the stripes...probably cut from the same blank...

Zastava. Not the fanciest or nicest, but decent solid rifles. TradeEx usually carries a few, looks like they're sold out at the moment.

7X57 and 257 Roberts are hardly boring chamberings in my opinion, but that is just me!

Anyone have a Stery M carbine? I see two for sale, but the cheekline looks low for scope use, just wondering how the ergonomics are.
