Manson Military Crown kit

Just received my new kit and was all hyped to get working on some barrels.

Let me tell you to use cartridge designations when ordering. I asked for a kit that would do a .311 barrel. Well for you or me that would mean .303 or 7.62x39. Apparently they measurements the use for their pilots are land to land. So my .311 pilot will do nicely for 8 mm or .32.

DOH!

7.5mm pilot on its way to do my 7.62/.308 guns.

Anyone need a 8mm crown cheap?

Kind of makes sense that pilots would be made to fit the bore not the bullet diameter... to me a .311 pilot is just that... .311... and most .308's take a .2990 to .2995" pilot... not a 7.5mm (.2955")

I'm not a gun tech so I asked for a pilot for .311barrel. You would figure since they advertised this as a home kit that they would expect "non proffesionals".

As for the pilots they use an expandable collet. So a .311 pilot can be used up to .321.

Likewise a 7.5mm will do 7.5mm and greater.
