I’m hoping some owners can chime in here; I want to know if this forend completely covers the barrel, leaving the flash hider still exposed, on a non-restricted barrel length?

Looking at the US owners, I'd say: no, you will have some barrel and muzzle sticking out still. This is what a 16" X95 looks like with an Optimus handguard fitted:

It’s definitely an improvement though. Thanks very much for taking the time to post that, much appreciated.

Thank you! Yes, I had read that the installation was challenging, interesting point about too much stress. Any issues with it affecting performance?

Installation was really easy,

Followed the instructions here

I like mine. Some people might be annoyed by the colors being slightly off but they add a lot of options with M-Lok and you can extend your support arm a bit more. I found that the charging handle somewhat interfered with my support arm with the stock handguard.

Mounting a light is still awkward as compared to your average AR. What I found to be most comfortable for me is a 45 degree offset rail with a modlite switch on it.

Really interesting button placement for the modbutton. Which offset mount did you use?

I'm a lefty, if that helps it make more sense. I tried both that and having the modbutton directly on top where the offset rail is attached, that also worked. I also tried a surefire tapeswitch on the top rail, basically over the backup irons because it is easily removable if I ever needed them. Still a bit high for my tastes.
