Again, please answer truthfully.

For the sake of the game, if you pick one, you wizz on the rest, that is, if you say Winchester, you could only have Winchester, no other brand.
The brand you choose is your go to brand....for the sake of the game...

I have found that European rifles, while more expensive, are generally more accurate, have nicer fit and finish, have nicer triggers and so on. I now have only 3 rifles, and they are all in this catagory. In addition to the manufacturers listed I consider Mauser (FN, Husky, Dumoulin etc), Sako and Tikka in this group.

I've owned all my favorites at one time or another...in no particular order,

Sako
Remington
Winchester
Tikka
Schultz & Larsen
Husquvarna
BSA
Sporterized M17 Enfields
Weatherby Vanguard
Marlin
Ruger
(have also owned Savage bolt actions but don't like to admit it publically)

Currently have only Sako and Remington bolt action CF's. Ruger 22LR and Marlin and Winny levers....oops , also have Ruger M77 Hornet

They are all good or they are all junk,....just depends on who you ask

Hard choice

I don't have all the listed rifles so if we could take up a collection and mail them to me I can try them all out and get back to you with my preferences.

I have winchesters, a ruger, tikka, and a few other hunting guns nestled in with my milsurp rifles. I do like the tikka (695 in 25-06) the action is so smooth, The ruger is my main go to hunting gun (M77 7mm Remmag) but I'm not too fussy over it, I need to bed it and free float the barrel ( some day  ) and my winchesters are mostly just for playing around with Mod94 30-30's for behind the seat of the truck for targets of oppertunity during hunting season, and a Mod70 308 heavy barrel for targets and varmit shooting.

I think that I need a savage rifle next.

If I were right handed and had to chose only ONE no-nonsense "go to" rifle that would be my only rifle forever after, I would probably chose a pre-ww2 Mauser Oberndorf or DWM factory sporter in either 7x57 or 8mmJS. I voted European with this rifle in mind.

Since I'm left handed though, I will personally have to instead chose a custom gun based on a commercial lefty action from one of these companies:

Montana Rifleman
Remington 700 (I have a nice custom on this action already!)
Win 70 (pre 64 or post 2000 of course!)
Ruber M77 (not MkII) with tang safety.

I also VERY MUCH like the Ruger No.1, but being a single shot, it's not my "there can be only one" rifle due to some situations where a mag is a must-have, like for hunting in BC bear country.

So all that to say - Euro, specifically pre-ww2 DWM/Mauser Ob. factory sporters. SWEET.

Ruger #1 in 7x57 for me.I may ge stupid but I carry it in Bear country because so much of B.C. is Bear country and that is where I hunt.Have not bin et yet.Have a Browing 338 which sits in the gun safe gathering dust.Use a BLR in 243 a lot also,

I picked Remingtons cuz they make pumps  and there is tons of take-off and aftermarket stuff for the 700s.

SC.................

Sorry Folks, I totally forgot Sako, Tikka, Linx, Zastava, CZ, and some others, but that fits with the euro bracket well anyway. My poor brain isn't running at full speed :( (OT withdrawl I think  )

Sako. I've owned several and currently have Model 75s in .223 and .270.

I wish they would make a the Finnlight in .260 Remington.
