Does any one own one of these guns?
Manurhin MR 32 Match is on the list of gun excempt from being prohibited.
Wondering how they shoot. I'm trying to get a hold of one.

I phoned the cfo in ottawa and the manhurian mr 32 match is on the list of guns that is excempt from being prohib and is the only revolver on the list. I want a snub nose revolver to compete in ppc with and according to the cfo if it is on the list as excempt that means the frame and has no bering on the barrel lenth so i should be allowed to have a 2" barrel and still be a restricted gun no prohib licence. now that that's out it should be even harder to find one.

That old Ottawa Citizen Firearms Registry database old turned up about 8 of them in Canada. I take that with a grain of salt. But still, looks like you have a hard row to hoe.

Interesting PPC idea.

I came across an owner from California who had imported it from Australia - that is how I found out about the Australian dealer.
The fellow told me that he had to wait a year to get it but eventually he did get it.
I got all excited and contacted the dealer in Australia - he never responded to my e-mails but eventually I got hold of his son on the phone and he told me how poor quality the new guns are and that they do not import them anymore and all that stuff. They just could not be bothered. Did not have time to follow up yet.
Good luck but I doubt you will get one in Canada

I tried a aussie website no reply yet.
as long as quality matches price i'm still going to try.
I don't speek a lik of french so i'm not even going to try phoning champange arms
the more people that want them the harder we try

I very much doubt you will get an email response. I did not for over two months and numerous attempts and that is why I eventually called them. And I feel that the "quality" thing was just their way of to telling me - go away.
Anyway - try to get Hermann Senior on the phone and ask him what will he charge for the export paperwork on top of the cost of the gun.

I contact the company directly, with little success. They did respond to me to say they would look into the matter by the end of Sept 2008 - I'm still waiting.

I knew there was one for sale in the toronto area last summer.

There is another revolver on the exempt list:
Vostok Toz 49
There are some of those in Canada. Not aware of new ones, but you could try posting on EE for a used one. Should be a lot less expensive than a Manhurin!
Empty

I heard that Tradex may be importing some. I heard this from Manurhin would not sell any to me directly. The Australian dealer, can't ship to Canada. We are stuck for the time being.

For what it is worth, the TOZ 49 takes the 7.62 mm Sport cartridge; the TOZ 96 takes the .32 S&W Long. As far as I know, there is no source of 7.62 mm Sport cartridges in Canada. They are a shortened version of the 7.62 mm Nagant Revolver cartridge, and not at all the same as .32 S&W Longs.

I think that you have two things here , 32 cal, O.k. in these guns,
But 2" snub nose is another kettle of fish, has nothing to do with
target guns which this section refers to.
I would be very suprised if they could enter the country.

I did some heavy research into MR-73's. The Australian dealer stopped importing MR-73's. The when distribution was passed onto another company the new company does not re-export. The new company even had the balls to tell me Manurhin no longer made the MR-73.

The MR-32 was never made in a 2" barrel. I don't think that there were even any snub nosed .32 MR-73's made either that you could swap barrel with out of country.

Trade-Ex can get them in if you order, but they cost $2500 new.

I have both a MR-73 and a MR-73 silhouette. I am short on cash at the moment and would be willing to sell the MR-73 for what I paid if anyone is interested.
