Manurhin Revolvers Join The Beretta Family

The barrels are also stress relived and the forcing cone is not of a straight angle but has a rolled taper. The lands are .355 and bore .358. The revolver was designed to be able to shoot 9.. like my MR 73 Convertible which has a 9mm cylinder. There are two flat springs in the grip that are both adjustable. One is for hammer force and the other for trigger force. I have less than a 4 pound double action trigger an 1.25 pound single action pull. The trigger group has 3 rollers thus making one of the smoothest triggers out there. The MR 73 Match and Silhouette models had a Swiss made match rear sight with interchangeable blades. From personal experience, every match rear sight had the same clicks for a given distance. BTW, the MR73 was the first CNC manufactured revolver. All parts are interchangeable except the removable right side plate. The GIGN used a 9.5 inch version with a pistol scope as a sniper firearm successfully during a hijacking in France. The MR73 is still used by some of the Gendarmerie National.

the gign officers are still given one mr73 after the completion of the one year and half of training. i have friends retired from them that were given the right to keep them because of excellent service records.

i do not think as of today the main gendarmerie is using except for celebrations as they re moving to glock 17. gign is using the glock 19 but not only.

I have been watching the French YouTube tapes for several years. The most recent ones are of the end of April 2021. There are now many specialized units besides the RAID and GIGN. They use an assortment of sidearms including Glock, Manurhin and even SIG. Manurhin made some SIG under license for the Poiice National. During testing, they discovered a crack in the slide using +P 9mm ammunition. They added a rib during machining which cured the problem.
