Hey all.
I have been hunting for about 12 years, and have a good basic understanding of how to use a map and compass, but I'd like to learn more. I moved to Alberta in April and am planning a backpack elk hunt in Kananaskis (assuming I get drawn).
Anyways, I love the challenge and adventure of hiking in and hunting far off the roads, but I want to have a really good understanding of how to properly use a map and compass, as well as a map and GPS, before I do this hunt. Can you guys recommend some books to read?
A few that I was considering:
Thanks!
-Sean
