so just bought a brand new mra 5r 18.6" fluted stainless match grade barrel went to assemble it and the extension "key" is offset about 5 degrees to the gasport . is this a big problem ???? im ####ing bricks right now as this barrel was not cheap

is it fixable by a gun smith this is so inconvenient i wanted to use this rifle over the Christmas period .... how can something like this get past quality control it stands out like dog balls

This happens for one of two reasons. It was not drilled to top dead center or they realized there was a head spacing issue and attempted to correct it. Either way I would expect to be sent a new barrel. This issue cannot be fixed.

its a mra match grade barrel as meroh said its not acceptable . the reason i went mra is because of there excellent reputation. apart from this issue the barrel looks A grade as #### ! im just down as i was planing on using my new build over the Christmas break. im sure true north arms will replace it with an other as they are who i bought it from and they have excellent customer service from my previous experiences with them. we will see what happens tomorrow . i hope they are open .....

Had one in the shop a few weeks ago and guy wanted it cerakoted. Being me I had to have a look with the bore scope....Complete junk chamber. Not so much match grade for me..hahahaha
I have seen Robinson arms barrels better

Very interesting... How was the rifling and bore itself? Ive heard IBI makes a decent blank? I’m guessing the shop MRA uses cuts the charmber (AEHRA Machine). I’ve recently got one of there stainless barrels and the bolt lugs on the extension were cut really rough.

I did notice it needs alot of deburing around the m4 feed ramps on the extension . It gouged up my upper reciver when i was test fitting it

only ever had 1 IBI in the shop and that was a train wreck. worst place to try and save a 100 bucks when there are Kreigers and bartleins and lots of other good barrels out there

Feel free to PM me and id be happy to show you all the discussion around the 1/2 MOA "train wreck" test barrel. Lol. Ill even shoot you the name of the person who owned it and you can ask them personally about it instead of hearing some internet shennanigans second hand.
