Mapleseed Training Rifle

Anyone else getting a rim-fire setup for attending a Mapleseed event? With my prodding, my father agreed to host an event on his property, so I felt the need to get a Ruger 10/22 again (Sold both mine a few years back and regretted ever since).


I'm most of the way there, just some more internals (firing pin & extractor), and if I'm good maybe a 2 stage from my wife.
Currently have TI buffer, TI Extended Charging handle, Tech Sights & USGI sling.

Rimfire only event going on the June 4th, near Stoney Lake Ontario. There is still some spots open last I heard, would love to meet some CGN'ers!

I don't see any events out here but I did print out the targets and give it a try with this rifle and arm strap. I shot a 201 first off and then followed it with a 234. I won the arm strap 30 plus years ago at a 3 gun match and had never used it, thank goodness I don't throw anything away, lol.

Well there is 3 scaled targets shot at 25m. 1 represents a torso at 100m, the second @ 200m and the 3rd @ 300m

Getting back to MS's rifle for a moment.... What stock is that? I was considering selling off my own cheap basic 10-22. But if I could give it a full stock look like this I could be easily convinced to keep it. That looks like more of a competition or "match" barrel as well. More details please if you don't mind Major?

I have something similar with williams peep and target front sight.

Fyi do not strip a 10/22 birch stock! It was pretty beat up so I thought it would be a good idea to strip it and try to refinish the stock. What was underneath the paint and stain Ruger uses was just a disaster. Ended up re-doing it with bedliner not as good as the original but I'm pretty happy with it. Shoots like a dream at 25 yards.
