Took me all of 30 seconds to decide to buy this a couple weeks ago. Interarms Mark X Mauser in my favorite caliber, 7X57. Hope it shoots as good as it looks. I'll call it my "Poor-man's .275 Rigby". I plan to bring this and my .375 Taylor Mauser to Alberta for Ek/deer this September.

Mark X

....Old school and beautiful.......fantastic score. 30 seconds? Took your time! ;)

Yes I was little off my game. Took it to the range finally today. With a Leupold Vari-X 2.5-8, at 75 yard backstop, the first and second shot 1/2" apart, the third brought group to 1"! This was with 139gr Hornady's behind 45gr's IMR 4064. Off to a good start.

Thanks for the range report!

It will do better than that, and I'm sure you will get it sorted. I can't think of a neater caliber that I would rather have in that rifle.........:)

I have a Mark X in 7X57 that came in a full Manlichner stock. I shot some black bears with it before I got married but my wife has taken it over since. At a gun auction I saw a nice "mauser/mark X" stock and I picked it up fairly cheap. I slipped in the Mark X and took it to the range. (It was almost like getting a new gun) It shot well and I started out the season carrying it.

I have done some handloading for it and could never get better groups than I could with federal factory 175 grain bullets. Someone mentioned that the throat of the chamber may be cut to shoot well with the longer bullets.
