Do you mean a Hammond Game Getter, the cartridge cases adapted to use powershots and lead balls?I have one for my .270 and one for the .444.Haven't killed nothing yet,but they work good, with plenty of small game power, and accuracy seems good.
I have tried them... the accuracy left a lot to be desired... here is an excerpt from the link.
The Hammond Game Getter is commonly known as a subcaliber adapter, subcaliber insert, cartridge adapter, squib load, gallery load, auxillary cartridge, etc. The purpose of the Hammond Game Getter is to convert your big-game rifle into a low-power rifle ideal for targets, birds, and small game at close range with minimum noise. Included in the kit are a precision made cartridge adapter with a stainless steel chamber, a bullet forming tool (swage), a few lead balls and a carrying case. Not provided are 22 caliber blanks (mail restriction).
Marbles Game Getter is an .22/smoothbore over under with a folding stock. Quite popular in the days before restrictions in this country and in the US. Earlier ones were .44 shot, later .410. Restricted classification, so useless for the intended purpose.
Use to be one fort sale at MILARM in Edmonton. I have the M6 which is legal to use and similar in concept. It's a great bringalong firearm when camping.
GAMEGETTER
I have a 22/410 2" game getter that is the same as the one in the link above minus the holster, they are a neat little gun and really fun. I wish they were not restricted.
I have one of each model and find them surprisingly accurate. Only headache is finding 2" 410's for the shotgun barrel. At one time most in-the-know trappers had them and they served the putpose well. The prize find is one with the holster, axe, and knife all in one!
