Marbles Tang Sight

I'll be shooting up to 300 yards to start, so the Pedersoli sight will do me to start I think. Down the road if I step up to 800 yards or more (Kamloops) I'll more than likely buy a Shiloh or C Sharps with a better sight. Seems crazy for me to pay out big bucks for a sight on a 2grand gun.

Btw, any tips for installing the sight if I don't have to drill and tap? Or is it simply screws out, screws in?

The sight should come with the appropriate screws. If you buy the application specific sight, it will include the longer tang screw, so, other then a good fitting blade screwdriver, Bob's your uncle! With proper loads, the Uberti will surprise you!

So no spirit level or windage adjustments (which seem like overkill to me anyway but what do I know.)

You can literally contact cement a Home Depot level bubble on the barrel if you’d like and it will work fine.

You can cheap out on a globe front of whatever brand fits the dovetail, but try and keep your Windage adjustment to the rear sight only.

Nibe: You seem concerned about cost versus rifle so I didn't include those choices as they are costlier. A Lyman globe sight runs about $50 + tax. If you buy a Soule sight, it comes with windage adjustment. Even a basic tang sight has limited windage by loosening the eyecup and drifting it right or left. I use globe sights with levels and windage when I can find them at reasonable cost. I ordered 2 of them from Brownell's ($149.00 USD ea) and only got one, the other is back ordered. That was 4 months ago.
The adjustment and use of Soule type sights can be a long dissertation on it's own!!! Probably the most cost effective sights are Pedersoli: A mid range sight at Brownell's is $223.00USD and the front sight (windage & level) is $149.00USD. Next would be Lee Shaver "Economy" Soule sight and globe front sight with spirit level, no windage. Maybe $100 more than Pedersoli. I have one of these and it works very well as do the several Pedersoli's that I have.

Ok, so I ordered the Pedersoli long range silhouette creedmore tang from Shooters and will likely opt for a globe front sight with inserts. I’ve got my juices going again, years of plinking gets kinda lame*. Love to learn and appreciate the help here and also the PMs.

Shooter's ??? More info please?

You will appreciate that sight with the windage adjustments I'm sure. Once you start shooting at anything far away you'll see how much these bullets drift. That ends up being the most enjoyable part of shooting these rifles. It feels very good to make a bunch of good wind calls when the wind is a little tricky.

If you do end up coming to Kamloops you'll find it both enjoyable and sometimes frustrating shooting the rams on a twitchy day. I've had days where it seems you can shoot until you are bored, without a miss at the rams, and them an hour or two later, the wind is so tricky that getting more than 3-4 in a row is a rare event :).

Chris.
