March Purchases

WOW Nyles!! Very cool! It may sound lame but the first time I ever heard of the Spencer carbine was in Red Dead Redemption  The more I learn of the Civil War and the weapons of the era the more and more I become interested. If you do shoot it take some pictures and a video and make a thread. I bet there would be TONS of interest!
2nd, that thing is cool!

Thanks to a great Mod for the guidance;)

granite, that old No4 MkI Long Branch looks pretty good.

By the way, it wasn't uncommon for the serial numbers on the rear of the bolts to be ground off during FTR. I have an LB that has gone through a similar procedure. It is stamped with the sold out of service "ENGLAND" mark on the receiver. I have seen many others this way and have always wondered if the rifles were quickly FTRed just before disposal and the time wasn't taken to restamp the bolt properly, in the old way, where they Xed out the old number and stamped in a matching number on the bottom of the bolt. It makes me wonder if the rifles weren't FTRed by civilian contractors, after disposal and if the original bolts were all mixed up, like the new in grease Long Branch rifles sold off by Italy a few years ago. Even though the rifles were new, none of them had matching bolts.
