Mare's leg a handgun for hunting purpose?

^ Negative on that, but they can have at er! And yes mine is 12 1/16". I don't worry about doing 59 in a 60 zone and getting a ticket, why would I worry about this?

Because with cars it's just going to be some points and insurance increase at worst in such borderline case (did a 80 on 60 before, but technically much higher), but with anything firearms it's pretty much take your guns away and your licenses (both huntign and firearms) away.

This doesn't have to be complicated. The Rossi is specified at 12" from the manufacturer. It's actually a bit longer on mine and I assume others too. However, even if it was EXACTLY 12" it would be legal for BC hunting.

^ wow, no PAL yet and already worried about getting your guns grabbed by the government.

Maybe try hunting/shooting with a full sized rifle a bit before you go hunting with a mares leg...

I remember I once sold some dumbass a mares leg for "bear defence" and he said if he got charged by a bear he would place the butt against a tree and take aim on it.

Amazed by the disconnect in this thread between firearms and hunting regulations.

I do expect myself to get a SKS for deer; mare's leg is more of a "I like the size and specification of that gun" purchase.

If you are new to hunting you would do better without a Mares Leg unless you put a full stock on it. As made, it's fun to shoot and can be accurate but it's hardly user friendly.

Why are they taking my guns away again? Regs say 12" and up is gtg! I am GTG!

It doesn't have to be complicated and it isn't.

First off, congratulations on getting your PAL..... Secondly, welcome to the world of hunting... You have started yourself down a path of delicious pure meat, exercise, fresh air, and comraderie....

I am not sure where you are located but I would be more than happy to take you out shooting, and let you shoot and handle some of my hunting firearms..... Then maybe even out on a hunt or two or maybe more.....

I think the crowd here has been somewhat polite and that's great, but I would hate to see your first hunting experience soured by a poor firearm choice resulting in an injured or suffering animal....
