This gun shoot about 7inchs high at 25yrds. Where does a fella find a higher front sight to fit the Chiappa?
Does the Chiappa have the same size of dove-tail as the Henery, or is there a metric standard issue with them?
The screws in the side of the reciever have a habbit of coming lose, any one else have the same issue?

Does any one have the answers out there?

Thanks for your help

Have you tried adjusting the rear sight?

The stock sight should have a beveled wedge with cut elevation notches that allow you to raise/lower the sights. You likely need to loosen the rear sight; now I can't remember if the stock sight has a screw in it, or if its dovetailed only into it. You'll have to look.

For the screws, get a bit of locktite on there, do NOT use Red Loctite, use Blue which is the medium strength.

My rear site is as low as it can be. I've applied locktite to the screws - purple - low strength. What I didn't know until now is one of the screws, the one that hold the loading gate in place, has a nut on it and when you take it out the nut falls off inside the action. I've got everything secured back into it's proper place again. Next I'll be needing to find a front sight with a higher post.

Par for the course.
Ranchhands are the same. I think it's either something you learn to live with or end up installing a fencepost size front sight.

My Ranchhand shot about 12 inches high and I got it pretty close by removing the rear sight elevator so the leaf was resting on the barrel as low as possible and then lowering the notch in the rear sight with a dremel.

Since yours is not as bad you might get there just by lowering the notch but the best thing would be to get a taller front sight for sure. Why not email Chiappa and ask them about it? Maybe they can send you a taller sight or at least tell you what size it its.....

I ended up ordering a sight from Skinner Sights. I talked with a fellow that had the same issue with his Henry and he put me on to Skinner. I'm hoping that I don't run into to much trouble making it fit. I've a .375" dove tail coming and to the best of my measuring ability, the dove tail in my barrel comes out to .350".

I put a Skinner Peep/ghost ring on my RH, initially still shot high, modded it to sit lower but haven't had time to test it since. Shot a decent group at 25 using 6 o'clock hold though.

I never thought of trying to contacting Chiappa myself. I spoke with the sports store that I bought the gun from and they said every one is having the same issue and they have not been able to get anything from Chiappa to fix the problem and I would be better off looking on line for sights from another source. I already have a set of sights coming - peep for the back and a post for the front- but it might be interesting to try Chiappa and see what kind of a response I get anyway.

a possibility is to cut a deeper notch on the rear sight. These guns will never see the collector value, hence, cutting the sight will make it work and you have only fixed the problem.
