I've been told the Henry Mare's Leg .22 is a non-restricted firearm. Yet according to the manufacturer, its classified in the US as a pistol. Pistol are a subset of hanguns, and handguns in Canada are either restricted or prohibited.

So how is the Mare's Leg considered non-restricted? What's the scoop? Is it officially considered a lever action rifle in Canada?

US calssifications are a bit different than ours. In Canada to be a handgun it must be able to be fired with one hand. The mares leg was not deemed a handgun due to the second hand needed on the forend to cycle the action. It means they let us have a 24" non-restricted rifle :dancingbanana:
