I've got a Rossi and a Chiappa take-down, both in .44mag. The Rossi is rougher in fit and finish, shoots too high with the stock sights (mostly corrected on mine by deepening the rear notch and filing down the top of the rear sight), and produces very decent accuracy (2 inches @ 50 yards...I doubt my eyes would allow much better with any open-sighted gun). Mine had no functional issues, but I smoothed the edges of the loading port as they came very sharp from the factory. I have a walnut magnetically-attached stock extension (made by CGN member Travel24Oz...Thanks, Andy!) that pops on or off in less than a second, and makes the gun much easier to shoot. I hope to take a deer with it this fall, and have already whacked a coyote right in the back yard. Wonderful toy.
The Chiappa takes down to fit into a single-pistol hard case. It is several cuts above the Rossi in terms of fit, finish, smoothness and general classiness. About the same accuracy, haven't shot it as much yet. Too nice to beat up in the field. I was leery of the Chiappa, having had a couple of bad experiences with other Chiappa firearms, but this one has been perfect so far. I justify owning it simply because it is too cool to sell.
I've fired one Henry, and it was accurate and functioned well, but loading it through the front mag tube like a giant .22 was a PITA.
