I would be in for a non-restricted .357.

The OAL of the Puma Bounty hunter (same idea) is 23".

If a rifle was made 3 inches longer than that somehow..... Mmmmmm

SImilar, yes. The 8.5 shotties are non-res 100% WITH A FULL STOCK and or a legal length over 26" / 660mm.

With a pistol grip becomes a grey area, and as yet has not been tried in court AFAIK.

This gun is manufactured at a OAL of 23-24", as advertised anyways, so how that becomes non-res I'll never know. I trust our dealers to be sure, BUT I have a very serious caveat about this one. To say it is non-res is one thing, but before I buy one I want to know the rules.

I've got the short shottie laws down pat, non-restricted CX4's, been there done that, understand the Tavor, etc. This one just makes no sense to me unless it is over 26" total length from the factory, or or trusted CFC / RCMP FRT Team is getting more relaxed.

So again I ask................Why would it be non-restricted? Please? :)
 
as dave tomlinson was fond of saying it does not have to make sense it is government policy . non restricted it is but for how long is anybodys guess .

Exactly....that's why I'd be reluctant to drop that much money without documentation.

After all the notices and memo's sen tin regards to the 8.5 shotguns, LAR-15 mags, etc...I would expect this item to have received the same amount of attention. The 660mm rule is not one usually skiffed over is it?
 
This raises another interesting question:
When the gun registry finally goes away, and we have these unconventional, yet non-restricted goodies, how will we prove them to be so if we are accosted by Mr I-was-absent-the-day-they-covered-firearms-laws LEO?

to be fair with canam, they have tons of other stuff on their plate that people are waiting for, i dont see this coming to life anytime soon
