Marine Magnum question

How many 3" shells do your guy's MMs hold? I seem to remember mine holding six but no dice. My magazine also doesn't appear to extend out as much as the photos I see, it is almost flush. Tried leaving it out but the threads are exposed and it doesn't feel right at all.

I don't have an MM but I've got an 18" 870 with factory mag extension and can fit only six 2 3/4" shells in the mag. The mag extension sticks out a bit past the end of the barrel (maybe 1/4" or so).

2 3\4" is no problem to fit six. 3" not so much.

Just like I thought, time to tinker I guess. I'm not clearing by only a 1\8" maybe a tiny bit more.
EDIT: It was just the 1 1\4 oz federal slugs. It's been a long day folks. My extension still is much further back than Nines, and the stock pic on remington as well as a few I found through google.

My Marine Magnum's magazine tube is also flush with the barrel...and it holds 7-shots regardless of shell length (2 3/4 or 3")
