I just bought the Mark 4 LR/T 4.5-14x50 and the parallax knob does not have any numbers on it. There is the infinity mark followed by 5 dots from small to large. I noticed this at the store and thought the owners manual would give values to the dots, wrong.:confused: :mad: Does anyone own one of these scopes? Is your parallax knob the same way? Does anyone know what the values for the dots should be? I need to know if I should return it for a different one.:redface:
 
I would think that the larger dot would begin around 50 yrd. and the smallest dot would be in the 400-500 yrd. range followed by the infinity mark. Seeing as I want to use this for long range target shooting, I would like to be sure.
 
The problem with putting numbers on Parallax adjustments is that it may give the shooter the wrong parallax indication IE @ 200 m this is what it should be the best way is to adjust the parallax to the individual shooter because parallax can change due to weather conditions. All leupold scopes come that way so if you return it you can not get anything different in the MKIV or VariXIII line up. Because Parallax is adjusted for each idvidual shooter start with the Big dots and work from there

Everyone's eyes are also different so numbers on the parallax turret would be kind of useless.

I have used a Luepy side focus scope for 10 years and have never had a problem with the "dots" they use on the turret.
