Mark II FV-SR thoughts?

I will be taking mine back to Shooting Edge to see if they will replace the faulty magazine that came apart.

I bought one today partly because of this thread and partly because 2 other forums had reviews that started with "I hate Savage, but love this FV-SR"

Accuracy at 50 yards is great. 1" group when I was really focused, and I am fairly new to shooting.

I had the stock 5 round mag open up just enough for the rounds to spring out as I inserted the mag. Not impressed after just 1-200 rounds through it.
Luckily I bought a 10 round mag with the gun today, so I didn't have to insert one at a time into the chamber.

I did however have to drop the mag and re-close the bolt after several shots as the extractor wasn't working properly after about 3-400 rounds.
I cleaned the bolt/extractor teeth with some gunzilla and it helped, but did not solve the problem.

Does anyone know of a solution for that?

My noob review is that for $243.00 it is a nice gun, but the stock sucks, the 5 round mag it comes with sucks, and the extractor sucks...
You do get what you pay for. What you pay for is one nice accutrigger!

Ellwood Epps.
From what I see on their site, I bought the last one. They're open tomorrow, so it might be worthwhile to call and double check.

I had it back out at the range today.
The extractor was acting up again, so I gave it a really thorough cleaning by holding the teeth open with a tiny screwdriver, getting lots of lube right inside.

Zero FTE's after that. I'm pleased with it again.
I will be getting a target stock for it, and a few more 10 rnd mags... She's a keeper!

I've had a lot of extraction issues with mine. I ended up using the rounded extractor out of a spare lakefield bolt I had laying around. Its wider in the middle and with a bit of filing was flush with the bolt. It made the spring clamp harder and I haven't had an issue since.

Get the FV-SR... I did the same thing... I made this build for grouse and rabbits using CCI Quiet LR loads... It has a Hawke Varmint SF 3-12X44mm mounted and shoots very tight at 25 yards, on small game most shots will be under 30 yards anyway... the Quiet LR loads are crap beyond 35 yards... the groups really open up.
