I just purchased a used Colt Mark IV series 80. I am familiar with pistols (Glock's & Beretta's) but this is my first 1911. It seems much more "mechanical" than anything I've owned before. The gun did not come with a manual, and I've got no idea how to strip the thing down for cleaning  . What's the procedure for field stripping a 1911? Is there an online manual I could look at?

A few details on the gun:

It has a Briley barrel (.40) and bushing, Chip Mc Cormick trigger group (can't believe how light and crisp it is), Ed Brown wide ambi thumb safety - beaver tail - hammer - one piece mainspring housing and magwell - oversized mag release. It came with a holster, a couple mag pouches, and 10 * 8 round magazines with bumpers, all for $1200. How'd I do :?:

Anxiously waiting for pocession. It's gonna be 5 - 7 days for the transfer to be completed. Until then I've got some studying to do  .
