Mark V Jungle carbine

I have a Mark V carbine that I'm thinking about cleaning up and refinishing with an eye to selling it. It is complete and shoots very well. Do any of you recommend this approach or would I be better off leaving it in original condition? How would a rifle like this be appraised? Thanks for your input.
 
Before you do any work on it, keep in mind some of the 'clean-up' required may end up devaluating your rifle. The price quotes already stated are on the mark. I lucked out and picked one up in very nice condition a while ago with the original sling for $300.oo. Then later I also acquired an original bayonet to go with it.

They are a fine rifle and I'll always regret parting with mine.
Bought it in 1963 from a hardware store / gunshop for $ 19.00 and the manager gave every purchaser two boxes of Dominion 303 with every rifle sold.

;)And for my first two, at $49.95 ea, I thought I did well in 1968, from a hardware store in Ladysmith. Still packed in the original grease!! The one pictured previously I'll try and hang on to. Mind you, I've said that before:p.
 
I acquired another, unfortunately it was extremely bubba'd... when I get my nerve up, I'll post a pic at the risk of being banished by milsurp lovers.... ;)
 
Leave it in it's original condition! Hard to tell value without pictures but the range should be $250 for a beater original to almost $500 for a minty.

Buy a Stevens 200 if you want to build up a gun.
 
Clean and oil it, don't strip or sand the wood, and just restore the name - it's not a Mark V Jungle Carbine,. proper name is No.5 Rifle.
