Market choice of .308/76.2X51 NR black rifles?

Hi folks! Well I have been thinking this over.... after I bought a crate of 308 ammo, and was going to use it for cheap practice (cheap is a relative term here lol) for my bolt.... I figured, I would maybe be better off with a Semi-auto, NON-res black rifle in 308.

This would be a rifle I use at the range, and hunt with occasionally as well.

However.... Seeing as I never kept up with what is available in Canada as a non-res 308 black rifle, I need your help!

Question is: WHAT NON-RES .308/7.62X51 SEMI-AUTO BLACK RIFLES ARE AVAILABLE IN CANADA? (That DON'T cost an arm and a leg!)

Of the ones I know of:

- RobArms XCR-M
- M14 (poly/norc)
- FN FNAR 308
- Valmet ($$$$$$)
- ???

The one thing I DO NOT WANT is another m14. I had one, sold it, its too heavy and crude for my liking. Its a good rifle, reliable, etc. I just dislike its bulk and size.

Have a cz858, and I wish they made a slightly larger 308!

I am thinking the XCR 308 might be an option but it seems too.... well too expensive and tactical to take into the woods to hunt with as well.

**MIND YOU: I am not eager to buy RIGHT NOW, I am just trying to weigh my options, so if there is something coming out later this year, let me know!***

So any tips/advice/suggestions?

Well, there's the Swiss Arms SAPR and FAMAE 542 that are coming in (hopefully soon). The FAMAE is about the same price as the XCR (probably 2k ish), and the SAPR is likely going to be about 2x the price of a Classic Green.

So basically there are not many options, and none other than the M14 are under $2000 (except maybe the FNAR... I'm not sure what it retails for up here, but I doubt it is less than $1500).

Saw a NIB one for sale for $1750 today.... its like $1300 in the US lol.

FAMAE sounds cool, but I have no idea when they will be here.

Yea, that's true, I guess I was asking a stupid question, if there were one....everyone would know about it!
