I have a Bren tripod complete with AA leg and 2 slings in very good condition. Missing 2 traverse stops and clamp for AA handgrip. What would be a reasonable asking price as I considering selling to fund other purchases?

Bren Tripod prices are crazy these days. I bought my Mk 2 for 1500 couple months back at auction. Crazy I know, but I wanted to finish the collection.

I want to say it would depend on the paint condition. Anywhere from 1k to 2k.

They dont come up very often. I have a complete MKI bought at auction last year. Think I was into it about $1100 with all the fees and taxes. I paid $800 for a Mark II about two years ago. Maybe check Switzer's for past auctions and you may find one that has sold recently

There's your answer. Paul or Doug will be able to give you a true Canadian market value estimate. Send them photos and give them time to reply, but you'll get a better idea than asking strangers to throw out prices until you get one you like.

Its not a matter of getting a price I like.. I am thinking of selling mine and want to get a reasonable $ out of it so I can buy something else I will use more without ripping off a potential buyer

You also have to remember those of us that bought them at auction paid a buyers premium and sales tax. Which doesnt happen with a private sale. Also those that sold them at auction paid the auctioneer a percentage to sell them

Aaahhh, for the days of the $200 Bren tripods. Personally, I started with one, and eventually got both the mk1 and the mk2 tripods. Then the mk1 tripod moved out to the Universal carrier so I had to find another mk1 for the gunroom. Since then I had another "fixer upper" CCM tripod show up for a reasonable price. I have the missing parts purchased, but am still waiting for delivery of them.

I think I have to agree with most of the estimates given. $800 should net a quick sale, $1100 might take a little longer. Higher than that you will be looking for someone who really wants one.
