Thinking about hunting down an 1881 Marlin rifle in 45-70. I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what one would be worth as I have seen very few for sale in Canada. I would consider other calibres as well. Just browsing the Web the price in the US seems to be about 1700-3000 dollars for a standard model. I suspect as usual the price would be cheaper here! Any input would be appreciated!

No, the prices aren't any cheaper here, in reality. They are scarce and desireable, when you can find one it will likely be around $2K and in .45-70. I've wanted one for a long time myself, doesn't look like it's going to happen.
