The model 1881 was Marlin's first level action repeating rifle. A picture and serial number would help me idenify it for you. I am a member of the Marlin Firearms Collectors Association and have access to the information from their records. The double set triggers were an option but not uncommon. There were 2 main types of the 1881, large frame and small frame. Yours would be the large frame and had standard 28" barrel.
