Works fine with reloaded straight wall cases but when I load up some new factory ammo with a roll crimp and the second crimp half way down the case it is jamming. Seems it is jamming on the actual crimp that is halfway down the case. Anyone else experience anything like this. Has happened only once so far but I am scared now that I am going to have to sort my cases and that I am not going to be able to shoot factory.

My Marlin 45 Colt jammed up the first time I used factory Winchester loads so I never used them again. Thousands of reloads later and never had a problem :)

1894 44 mag

I have one I use for CAS. Lots of rounds never had an issue. Used it hunting with factory rounds and didn't have any issues. Can you see any indication of problems in the chamber? Has it had 44 spcl rounds through it?

I am new to levers so I am not sure what to look for. I do notice my ejected casings are all pretty scratched up though. Maby some sharp edges somewhere in the action hangin up on that crimp groove. The round that jammed was jammed as it was comming outta the mag tube. Looks like it got half way and stopped but I had the lever all the way open.

Make sure the loading gate screw is tight. A burr on the interior side of the gate gave me fits for months. I found it by taking it out and dragging a cotton ball across it. You could not feel it with your finger. Steel will grab brass.

regards Darryl
