Marlin 1894, 44 mag round in the magazine, action siezed open

I just bought a marlin 44 mag and was cycling rounds through and the action siezed open with rounds in the tube.

How do I clear these?

The magazine tube plug at the muzzle end is attached with a small screw at the bottom. If you unthread this screw, the plug, spring, follower, and loaded rounds should all come out. Be careful, though, as the tube will be under spring tension since it's loaded, so wrap a towel over everything as you unscrew the plug so that things don't go flying.

I was able to clear the round but not through the mag tube. After the spring, nothing else came out. I used a screwdriver to push on the round through the loading gate which freed the action
Now I have to replace the magazine spring.
Obviously I won't be using leverevolution in this rifle come November

If it continues, google "The Marlin Jam".
