Are we ever going to see these again in Canada? I would think that the market for pistol calibre lever action (NON TURKISH) rifles would be on fire in Canada right now... Every retailer is showing "Backordered" - can anyone in-the-know weigh in on what the future holds here? Is holding my breath for one a gonna be bad for my health?

I have an .357/.38sp 1894 with a straight walnut stock in stainless that I used for CAS. It's a remlin vintage but is flawless. It's easily my favorite center fire rifle I own.

call any retailer in Canada and ask if they have marlins in stock. They will laugh at you. Lever actions are becoming more and more popular, even in the states. Distributors will fulfill American orders before they even consider the Canadian market.

Levers are the next best thing if you can’t use a semi auto anymore.

I prefer a pump over a lever action if the commies ban SA.

I am signed up for in-stock notifications on pretty much every Canadian gun shop that has that function on their website. Never received a single email from any of them other than the initial confirmation email. I just had to manually scour the sites. My LGS employees laughed at me every time I came in asking if they had one.

I've decided to change my hunting rifles over to stainless with plastic furniture so I also swapped out the stocks and forends on them to the Magpul ELG.

Italian sporting goods in Vancouver have the Marlin 1894 sbl and trapper in stock in 44mag and 357 mag.
Like Andrew says:

Or the guide gun series 357 Magnum:

Prophet River Firearms in Lloydminster, Alberta is another good bet!......:)

Since it turned out that Ruger can build good Marlin rifles, they can't keep up with demand.
It's how Ruger does things. I recall the SR1911 when it came out, they literally flew off the shelves, Ruger turned up production which resulted in some QC issues, then demand slumped and therefore so too did production.

Good news is they sort out QC issues quickly, and they make a great lever action by all accounts. Why anyone would consider anything but a 30-30 chamber is beyond me though.

Because a matching revolver in 30-30 would be heroic, but probably impractical.
