Marlin 1894 Question.

Is there any reason I can't put a pistol grip stock and lever from the 1894FG(.41Mag) on a 1894 that had a straight grip and lever (.44 mag) without modification.

Isn't the receiver tang on the .41 curved to match the pistol grip? I think the trigger guard plate is curved as well.

Well then how about swapping a .44 barrel onto the 1894FG model? What I want to end up with is a Marlin Lever action with a pistolgrip in .44 to simplify reloading with my revolver.
