I have a Marlin 1894 Cowboy in 44 mag and am looking to put a tang sight on it.

The rifle came with the dovetail for the rear sight cut crooked (same thing happened to a friend of mine). Marlin put me onto an outfit out east to do warranty work. The warranty guys said they would replace the gun, but nearly a year later they still don't have one for me.

So I have been one year with a gun which has no sights. I just don't think a reciever peep suits the gun, although I am a big fan of reciever sights. So does anyone have any recommendations for a tang sight and more importantly who can install it in east central Alberta (east of Red Deer).

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Marbles makes one and installation will, unless I am mistaken, require you to drill and tap one hole in the tang.

Yeah, I have looked at Marbles and Lyman. I was hoping someone might have experience with them and have some opinions on thier quality etc.
